   adware and spyware are tricky things to deal with. there is no silver bullet to fix/prevent them all, but there are steps you can take to help protect you from them.
   First step is be very careful of websites offering you free stuff usually lots of flashing icons are involved, also watch out for sites that are telling you “you won” x y and z those sites can be very harmful.
   there is a few pieces of software that will also help protect you. my personal favorite is spybot search and destroy, but people also seem to be having great luck with lavasoft adaware. most important things about the software is don’t install a few different types of antivirus-antispyware software get one of each or something the checks for both. if you end up with to of the software types like anti virus they can conflict and break each other.
